Every one of the 377 roles we swept this month had postings. Together we found 10060 postings from 750 employers. The top of the table is not dominated by model builders. It is led by the people who explain AI to customers, check it, price it and buy it.
The biggest single story is the AI Solutions Engineer, first in our sweep with 42 postings. In October we found none for it.
Where the demand is
See the figures
| Role | Postings | Employers |
|---|---|---|
| AI Solutions Engineer | 42 | 23 |
| AI Cluster Network Engineer | 41 | 27 |
| Grounding Evaluation Specialist | 40 | 22 |
| AI Capacity Planning Engineer | 39 | 27 |
| AI Content Provenance Engineer | 39 | 27 |
| AI Tax Specialist | 39 | 25 |
| AI-Assisted Verification Specialist | 38 | 31 |
| AI Quality Inspection Engineer | 38 | 29 |
| Training Reliability Engineer | 38 | 27 |
| AI Procurement Specialist | 38 | 25 |
The AI Solutions Engineer leads with 42 postings from 23 employers. This is the person who sits between a customer's problem and the product, builds the demonstration, and works out what will survive contact with the customer's own data. A lot of companies seem to want one.
Next is the AI Cluster Network Engineer with 41 postings from 27 employers. The work is the fabric that links accelerators together so that large jobs do not stall waiting on each other. Alongside it, the AI Capacity Planning Engineer has 39 postings from 27 employers, and the Training Reliability Engineer has 38 from 27. Four of the ten are infrastructure or reliability roles in one form or another.
Then there is the checking work. The Grounding Evaluation Specialist has 40 postings from 22 employers, which means testing whether an answer is actually supported by the source it cites. The AI-Assisted Verification Specialist has 38 postings, and those came from 31 employers, the widest spread of employers in the top ten. The AI Content Provenance Engineer has 39 postings from 27 employers.
The rest of the list reaches into the wider business. The AI Tax Specialist has 39 postings from 25 employers. The AI Procurement Specialist has 38 from 25. The AI Quality Inspection Engineer has 38 from 29, which is factory-floor work, inspecting parts with vision models and deciding when to trust them.
The gaps between places in the top ten are small, from 42 down to 38. Read it as a cluster of roles in strong demand, not a strict ranking.
What moved
See the figures
| Role | Change | Before to now |
|---|---|---|
| AI Solutions Engineer | 42 | 0 to 42 |
| AI Tax Specialist | 39 | 0 to 39 |
| AI Evaluation Consultant | 38 | 0 to 38 |
| AI Procurement Specialist | 38 | 0 to 38 |
| AI Quality Inspection Engineer | 38 | 0 to 38 |
| AI Process Optimisation Engineer | 37 | 0 to 37 |
| AI Execution Researcher | 37 | 0 to 37 |
| Grid AI Engineer | 37 | 0 to 37 |
| Sales AI Workflow Specialist | 37 | 0 to 37 |
| AI Control Engineer | 37 | 0 to 37 |
The movers list is unusual this month. Every role on it rose from no postings in October's sweep to a substantial number in November. The figures we hold show no fallers among the biggest movers, so there is no decline to report here.
The largest rise is the AI Solutions Engineer, from 0 to 42. The AI Tax Specialist follows, from 0 to 39. Then come the AI Evaluation Consultant, the AI Procurement Specialist and the AI Quality Inspection Engineer, each with 38 postings this month.
Further down the movers are four roles tied to particular industries and to safety: the AI Process Optimisation Engineer, the AI Execution Researcher, the Grid AI Engineer and the Sales AI Workflow Specialist each reached 37. The AI Control Engineer also reached 37, which suggests that work on monitoring and containing AI systems is now being hired for as a job in its own right.
Roles appearing for the first time
A second list covers roles that were new to our sweep this month. Two clusters stand out.
- Delivery and consulting: the AI Solutions Architect (26 postings), the AI Implementation Consultant (32), the AI Evaluation Consultant (38) and the AI Technical Programme Manager (36).
- Commercial: the AI Customer Success Manager (36), the AI Enterprise Account Executive (28), the AI Partnerships Manager (32) and the AI Solutions Engineer again, at 42.
A third, smaller cluster sits around buying and value: the AI Vendor Risk Analyst (31) and the AI Value Realisation Analyst (32), joined by the AI Procurement Specialist at 38. The Chief AI Officer also appears, with 17 postings, the lowest count on the list.
The pattern is easy to read. Once a company has an AI product or programme, it needs people to deploy it, sell it, measure it and buy it sensibly.
The hardest AI hires this month are the ones who stand between the model and the customer.
By area
See the figures
| Area | Postings | Roles with postings |
|---|---|---|
| Industry and public services | 2399 | 89 |
| Engineering and infrastructure | 1151 | 39 |
| Research and learning | 1106 | 47 |
| Science and health | 908 | 40 |
| Safety and security | 861 | 32 |
| Governance and society | 831 | 32 |
| Enterprise and commercial | 805 | 26 |
| Data and knowledge | 756 | 26 |
| Product and experience | 645 | 23 |
| Agents and embodied systems | 598 | 23 |
Industry and public services is the largest area in our sweep, with 2399 postings across 89 roles. It has both the most postings and the most roles, which fits the movers list: energy, chemistry, manufacturing and retail roles all showed up there.
Engineering and infrastructure comes next with 1151 postings across 39 roles. Research and learning follows with 1106 across 47, and Science and health has 908 across 40. Those four areas are where the postings we found are most concentrated.
The middle of the table is close. Safety and security has 861 postings across 32 roles, and Governance and society has 831 across 32. Enterprise and commercial has 805 across 26, Data and knowledge 756 across 26, Product and experience 645 across 23, and Agents and embodied systems 598 across 23.
Agents and embodied systems has the fewest postings of the ten areas, but it is also one of the smallest in roles, so a low total does not mean a quiet area. Safety and security and Governance and society both sit above Enterprise and commercial in postings, a reminder that assurance work is hired for at scale and not only as an afterthought.
How we read this
Each month we search recent job postings for every role we track, including its other titles, and count the distinct postings and employers we find. The counts are a sample of what is out there, not every job. They are best read as direction, not as exact measures.
Demand figures come from a monthly search of recent job postings for each role and its other titles. They are a sample, not every job in the market, and are best read as direction rather than totals.
