Autonomous navigation and field robotics

Autonomous navigation and field robotics is the work of getting machines to perceive their surroundings, work out where they are and move through physical spaces safely. AI companies need it when models have to act in the real world, not just on a screen.

More AI teams are putting models into machines that move, and software habits do not carry over well. Sensors drift, ground is uneven and failures cost hardware. The hard part is finding people who have shipped autonomy on real platforms, not only in simulation. Many strong candidates sit in estimation, control or perception, so titles mislead. Ask what broke in the field and how they fixed it. Fleet support roles are still emerging and the talent pool is thin.
