Defence and national security AI assurance

Defence and national security AI assurance is the work of supporting authorised analysis and governed systems. It matters to AI companies because defence customers need evidence that AI behaves within human command, the law and classification controls.

Defence and security bodies want AI in mission systems, and they need proof it is safe to use there. Suppliers are asked hard questions about hazards, limits and oversight. The hires are tricky because the best people come from defence systems, security analysis, simulation or safety assurance, not from AI. They also work under clearance and classification rules, so the pool is small and slow to move. Founders should check for judgement as well as technical skill.
