Insurance, actuarial and claims AI

Insurance, actuarial and claims AI is the work of building governed models for risk, claims and insurance operations. AI companies selling into insurers need people who understand how those models are checked, explained and controlled before anyone relies on them.

Insurers want AI in underwriting and claims, but every model sits inside actuarial assumptions, regulation and legal review. Vendors who cannot speak that language stall in procurement. The hires are tricky because the skills sit across several fields. Strong candidates tend to come from actuarial science, insurance analytics, claims or ML, and few have done more than one. Titles also vary a lot, and some roles here are only just emerging.
