General-purpose autonomy assurance

General-purpose autonomy assurance is the work of showing, with evidence, that a system handed broad and consequential tasks can be trusted with them. AI companies need it to answer a hard question: on what grounds do we delegate?

Every role here is a scenario, not an open vacancy. Nobody can yet hire for them in the usual sense. Interest is forming because systems are being given wider tasks, and boards and customers will soon ask who vouches for them. The tricky part is that no one has done this job. Strong candidates tend to come from AI control, assurance, systems safety or formal methods, and the skill is reasoning carefully under uncertainty, not matching a past title.

Depends on a scenario

Broad reliable autonomous delegation

What AI would need to do
Systems complete diverse consequential tasks with sustained reliability beyond existing narrow deployments.
What organisations would need to decide
Organisations explicitly delegate bounded authority and establish enforceable accountability.
What would rule it out
Persistent reliability limits or lack of useful cost advantage prevents broad delegation.

We give no date. The role becomes real if both conditions hold.
